๐๏ธ The City Mouse and the Country Mouse ๐พ
Once upon a time, there were two mice who were cousins. One mouse lived in the country and the other mouse lived in the city.
The Country Mouse lived in a small, quiet house in a field. He ate simple food like corn, wheat, and nuts. He was happy but his life was very simple.
One day, his cousin, the City Mouse, came to visit him. The City Mouse was very excited to see the country.
"Welcome, cousin!" said the Country Mouse. "Please come in and eat with me."
He served his cousin some corn, wheat, and a few nuts. The City Mouse looked at the food and was not happy.
"This is all you eat?" said the City Mouse. "In the city, we have so much more! We have cheese, cake, and many other delicious foods. You must come and visit me in the city. You will see how wonderful life can be!"
The Country Mouse was curious. He decided to go with his cousin to the city to see the wonderful life.
When they arrived in the city, the Country Mouse was very surprised. Everything was so big and busy! There were tall buildings, big streets, and so many people and cars.
The City Mouse took his cousin to a big house. They went inside through a small hole in the wall.
"Look!" said the City Mouse. "This is where we eat!"
There on the table was a big feast! There was cheese, bread, cake, and many other foods. The Country Mouse had never seen so much food in his life.
"Let's eat!" said the City Mouse.
The two mice began to eat the delicious food. The Country Mouse was very happy. "This is wonderful!" he said.
But suddenly, they heard a loud noise. A big dog came running into the room, barking loudly.
"Run! Run!" shouted the City Mouse. The two mice ran and hid in their hole. They were very frightened.
After a few minutes, the dog went away. The mice came out of the hole and started to eat again.
But then, they heard more noise. A cat was coming! The mice ran back to the hole.
"This is too dangerous!" said the Country Mouse. "I cannot live like this!"
The City Mouse was sad. "But look at all this wonderful food!" he said.
"The food is good," said the Country Mouse, "but I prefer my simple, quiet life in the country. There, I can eat my simple food without being scared. I would rather eat corn and nuts in peace than eat cake and cheese in fear."
The Country Mouse said goodbye to his cousin and went back to his small house in the field.
He was happy to be home. He ate his simple food and slept peacefully, with no dogs or cats to frighten him.
Moral of the story: A simple life in peace is better than a life of luxury with danger. Better a crust of bread in peace than a feast in fear.
